I am researching on articulated buses right now as part of a presentation I am going to give soon.
Anyway, in a page about the History of the HSR it talks about a time when the Riot Act was read in Hamilton during a labour dispute in 1908. It said the Riot Act was read. Turns out it is the same Riot Act today. Sorta cool.. to me, and yes I am a nerd.

In Canada, the Riot Act has been incorporated in a modified form into ss. 32-33 and 64-69 of the Criminal Code. The proclamation is worded as follows:
Her Majesty the Queen charges and commands all persons being assembled immediately to disperse and peaceably to depart to their habitations or their lawful business, on pain of being guilty of an offence for which, on conviction, they may be sentenced to an imprisonment for life. God Save the Queen!

I was so disappointed that when I joined the Canadian Forces I swore allegiance to Her Majesty and not to Canada.
Another issue I have is that she is the Head of State of Canada. I love the concept (faulted as it may be) in America that any child could grow up to be the head of state of their country (be the President of the United States).
