I love the accusations leveled against me that I am spreading misinformation and lies about the MSU.
Yeah, sure…. that is why that could only pick one item out of my list that was incorrect. The only reason I put it out there was because the Executive of the MSU is so top secretive that they tell students nothing.
The only time they actually respond to concerns is when I put it out there for the public to see.
I have now recieved the cost of the Cottage Country Retreat the MSU went on: $17,200. Still a lot of our money.
Oh yeah, even more Student Code of Conduct charges coming my way.
The MSU is really hoping their friends at the University shut down students down. Wow, the more I learn about student politics the more cynical I become.
Speaking of cynical, the situation at Simon Fraser is only getting worse as more light is shone on the Executive at the Simon Fraser Student Society: http://blog.sfssdemocracynow.ca/
I want to say to the students of Simon Fraser fighting for accountability from the student union they have to pay money to; keep up the good work!
You know, the more I learn about Student Unions and the massive amount of money they waste; the more and more that I am in favour of VSU: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_student_unionism

So you’re allegedly spreading lies and misinformation?
So are we, according to the SFSS.
I wonder if this is a common statement…
It is extremely common for student unions to do. When there is a wall of silence built up around the student union and staff live in fear for their jobs, the student activist has to rely upon sources that he/she cannot reveal. Often, the student union will say prove it. For example, my student union just ran a $17,000 retreat for themselves to a beautiful private lake cottage resort. I published this information. The response from the student union was that I was spreading misinformation and they demanded that I produce their invoice!
I have demanded that the give me, a student, the invoice!
They, of course, claim that it is a confidential corporate contract between them and the resort. They claim they cannot release it. Sounds familiar?
It seems that the more power that student leaders have, the more likely they are to abuse it.
Looking at your site, good job! People may be attacking your group for being anonymous but you have to be.
I am open and reveal myself to my student union. For that, I have been charged under the McMaster University Student Code of Conduct for dozens of offenses. Under the Student Code of Conduct, I have to prove myself innocent of the charges and free speech / political speech is not protected. The most common charge is harassment. As such, I know that by the fact that student unions have so much power, the power imbalance requires that one take precautions for their safety.
Perhaps we need to form some sort of VSU Union… or Un-union.
