5% is all that’s needed. at SFSS Democracy Now

Hear the song “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” in your head while reading this.

A great thing in B.C. is that Students’ Unions / Societies / Associations fall under a piece of legislation called the Society Act of British Columbia often called the Society Act for short.  It is a great piece of legislation that recoginizes the unique aspects of non-profit societies.  Anyway, that is a tangent to the main point.

SFSS Democracy Now is reporting that the B.C. Ministry of Finance has spoke on the issues there and it states that 5% is all that is required on a petition to demand a General Meeting of the SFSS.

Here is the post:  Link to 5% is all that’s needed. at SFSS Democracy Now

Google Calendars at McMaster

A friend of mine out at Simon Fraser University informed me that Google Calendar is very big there and that a lot of student groups and the University post to Google Calendar so that others can import their events into their personal calendars. I decided to see what is out there at McMaster.

I found four McMaster Community Calendars. (click the icons to download them in the listed format)

This one list important dates from the Undergraduate Calendar:

The IRC has a calendar available of all their events:

The MBA Association:

The McMaster Catholic Students’ Association:

Guaranteed that I missed one somewhere… add it to the comments and I will add it to the post.
