Completion of the $34-million medical school has been delayed a year, until September 2009. The project remains on budget but is $4 million short after Waterloo regional council capped its contribution.
The medical building has a concept but not an approved design and is not yet under construction.
“The planning process just takes time,” Van Nierop said. “It was an aggressive schedule in the first place.”
As planned, 15 medical students will still start their studies next fall at McMaster University in Hamilton.

Paul,
Thank you for the link. I am already all over the story. I am taking advantage of the break to go in-depth in a way that has not been seen on JoeyColeman.ca since my coverage of the UofM/Dell Girl in April of 2005 or even my food services coverage during my service on UMSU Council.
Watch for the first edition back of the Silhouette for the initial response and then come back to JoeyColeman.ca for more.
