Oshawa is in a real decline. I own a home in Oshawa and have been trying to sell it. I even lowered the price by $40,000.00 and still people do not want to buy in Oshawa. I can however rent to students and to those who need a room to live. But the neighbours want only single familys to live in Oshawa. Oshawa BETTER wake up. If single familys do not want to move to oshawa. Then who is going to buy our homes? If the city allowed home owners to become landlords and rent out their homes, then investors would come to Oshawa. But rembember an investor is in it to make money not for charity. So if the city makes the by-laws to hard, the investors will not buy. This will leave Oshawa as a place no one wants to invest. Personaly once I sell my home I plan never to invest in Oshawa again.

Good day, thanks for this information. I was thinking about purchasing a home in this area to rent to students. I own homes in Waterloo (legal student dwellings), North York (not legal as yet, but not enforced). Im really waiting for this whole situation is cleared up. I live in Ajax so Oshawa would be easy for me to maintain. I have had some real negative experience's in Oshawa as it seem's a % of population is really ignorant. I think Oshawa should try to adapt a situation that bring's $'s into communites.
